Redefining Bitumen logistics and heating!! |

The initial type of our Heatable containers, developed in our own R&D, worldwide patented, has been designed as - CA™ - a parallelepiped heatable, ISO registered, maritime type 20 feet container (volume of 20 m³). Our process is using a hot airflow originating from two removable burners in the double bottom of the CA™, running on gas oil or on kerosene, in order to raise the product temperature up to 130° C. To do this, about 10 hours are required, depending on local climatic conditions. When the bitumen is on the outside temperature, we are loading the CA™ on flat trailers for delivering to the sites. Our containers – being smelters in itself – thus represents a large saving in investment. Also, experience tells that 102 litres of gas oil, or 5,6 liters per tons, are needed to melt 18 tons of bitumen. Here again, the saving is important since 18 to 20 litres of gas oil per ton of bitumen are necessary to heat bitumen in standard smelters. Owing to our heating system, bitumen does not incur any change of standard, both mechanical, as well as organical properties. Also, there is no loss of product when emptying the containers as compared to drums or tanks.
